This program celebrates Clarisse Mechanic, who, with her husband, Morris, almost single-handedly preserved legitimate theater in Baltimore during its darkest days. Her later efforts and generosity to our region are legendary as she molded and shaped a great urban area. It's an inspiring story of how one woman's courage and love for people and the arts nurtured the Baltimore renaissance.
