The Emerald Ash Boer beetle, one of the top invasive species in the U.S., is destroying trees in Maryland. So far the only way to combat this infestation is to destroy infected ash trees before they attract more beetles. Officials work quickly to replace removed trees as scientists attempt to halt the infestation and prevent it from reoccurring.
