FIRST THIS WEEK, $8 BILLION, THAT IS THE REPORTED TOTAL OF ALL CAMPAIGN SPENDING AT ALL LEVELS AROUND THE COUNTRY.
IN A MOMENT, WE'LL HAVE THE LATEST ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE RACE IN MARYLAND HISTORY.
THAT FOR THE U.S. SENATE.
BUT FIRST, THE MARKETING SCIENCE THAT DRIVES ALL THOSE BILLIONS IN ADVERTISING.
WE CAUGHT UP WITH UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CLINICAL PROFESSOR OF MARKETING Dr. HANK BOYD.

IN TERMS OF WHAT AD WE'RE GOING TO PUT TOGETHER AND MAKING SURE IT ALIGNS WITH THE RIGHT AUDIENCE.

I KNOW MY KEY SEGMENTS BASED ON DEMOGRAPHICS OF AGE.
18-24-YEAR-OLD CROWD IT WILL BE SOCIAL MEDIA AND TIKTOK AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE MESSAGES THAT SPEAK TO THE AUDIENCE LIKE STUDENT DEBT AND WHERE THE COUNTRY IS HEADED.
ISSUE ABOUT LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER ARE GOING TO MATTER.
AND OF COURSE, WHAT CUTS LIKE A LASER THROUGH THE DIFFERENT AGES IS THE ISSUE OF ABORTION RIGHTS FRONT AND CENTER FOR KAMALA HARRIS AND HER CAMPAIGN SAYING WE HAVE LOST OUR REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS AND WE ARE GOING TO GET THEM BACK WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO PASS A LAW THAT WILL HAVE A SWEEPING EFFECT NATIONWIDE.
AND THERE'S FEAR PLANTED BECAUSE DONALD TRUMP IS SAYING HE IS GOING TO HAVE A NATIONAL BAN ON ABORTION AND THAT, I THINK, WILL GET A LOT OF WOMEN TO THE POLLS.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE NUMBERS SHE IS LEADING BY A LOT WITH WOMEN.
AND IT MAKES SENSE LOGICAL SAYING YOU WILL BE OUR CHAMPION WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET BACK THE RIGHTS THAT THE SUPREME COURT TOOK AWAY FROM US IN THE DOBBS DECISION.
>> Jeff: WITH MARKETING AND SALES MORE OF THE MONEY IS GOING INTO NEW MEDIA, SOCIAL MEDIA.
YOU REFERENCED THAT, BUT THE REASON BEHIND IT, CORRECT ME IF I'M WONG, YOU CAN TARGET PEOPLE REALLY GRANULARLY.
I'VE WATCHED THE WORLD SERIES AND SAW A TON OF POLITICAL ADS.

YOU CAN BE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHO YOU ARE GOING TO HIT.
IF I SEE SOMETHING I LIKE I CAN SHARE WITH AND SOMEBODY ELSE.
THE PUBLIC CAN TAKE UP THE NARRATIVE AND I CAN SHARE IT AND GET IT TO THE RIGHT FOLKS IN SOME SENSE.
SO IF YOU HAVE A MESSAGE THAT IS DONE RIGHT, I WILL BECOME YOUR ACCOLADE AND REACH OUT TO OTHERS AND SAY DID YOU SEE THIS ONE?
AND SO THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN, I'M SURE THERE IS A LOT OF SHARING GOING ON AND YOU CAN DO THAT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA WHICH IS GREAT.
>> Jeff: ONE THING I HAVE NOT SEEN IN THIS RACE IS ANYTHING THAT MADE ME LAUGH.
MAYBE THE WORLD'S MORE SERIOUS.
BUT IN TERMS OF HUMOR IN ADVERTISING, AND IN MARKETING, ARE WE MISSING THAT HERE?
>> WELL, IT'S PROBABLY THE NATURE OF THIS RACE.
THERE ARE SERIOUS TIMES, HIGH STAKES GOING ON.
SO SELF DEPRECATING HUMOR IS SOME THINGS POLITICIANS DO FROM TIME TO TIME.
THE NEW CHARACTER ON THE SCENE THAT COULD DO THAT IS TIMOTHY WATSON.
TIMOTHY WATSON IS THE GOOD OLD HE IS DAD LET ME TALK ABOUT HOW I CAN REPAIR THIS CAR AND YOU CAN GET THE PART FROM THE LOCAL SHOP.
>> Jeff: THERE'S HUGE GAPS IN TERMS OF WHO SUPPORTS WHICH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.
THERE IS A GENDER GAP, A RACIAL GAP, A GAP BY EDUCATION LEVEL, AS A MARKETER, DO YOU LOOK AT THAT AND SAY I WANT TO TRY TO NARROW THE GAPS WHERE I'M ON THE WRONG END OF IT?
OR I WANT TO SPEND MY MONEY TRYING TO EXPAND THE ONES WORKING IN MY FAVOR?
>> I TEND TO THINK YOU GO TO YOUR BASE FIRST.
I WANT TO WIN OVER MY BASE AND GET THEM SO RILED UP THEY WILL GO TO THE POLLS AND THEY WILL BRING OTHER PEOPLE.
THEY WILL KNOCK ON DOORS AND REACH OUT HERE IS WHY YOU NEED TO VOTE FOR MY CANDIDATE.
I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT IS CRITICAL CENTRAL THAT I GET THAT DONE FIRST.
IF YOU HAVE MONEY LEFTOVER IN THE WAR CHEST YOU MIGHT SAY CAN WE MAKE INROADS WITH OTHER CROWDS BUT IT'S HARD TO MOVE FOLKS.
ONCE THEY ANCHOR IT'S TOUGH TO MOVE THEM.
SPEND YOUR MONEY WISELY.
GO AFTER THE VOTES THAT ARE GETTABLE.

I ENJOY WHETHER THEY ARE AN ENTERTAINER OR SPORTS FIGURE, IF THEY ENDORSE SOMEONE AND I ALIGN MYSELF THERE'S RESEARCH WORK THAT BACKS THAT.
YOU ARE TRYING TO CHOOSE A CELEBRITY ENDORSER ACCORDINGLY.
IF YOU THINK ABOUT MOVIE STARS AND THE ROLES IF THEY WERE COOL AND CHARACTERMATIC IF GEORGE CLOONEY IS VOTING FOR KAMALA HARRIS THAT MEANS SOMETHING TO ME IF I AM A FAN.
>> Jeff: NEGATIVE WORKS IN THE POLITICAL SPACE OR THEY WOULDN'T BE SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY ON IT.
THE MODEL YOU STARTED OFF THE CAMPAIGN SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON POSITIVE STUFF TRYING TO BUILD THE BIOGRAPHICAL LIFE STORY OF YOUR CANDIDATE AND THEN AT SOME POINT YOU GET NEGATIVE AND ATTACK ON ISSUES WHERE YOU THINK THERE'S VULNERABILITY AND CLOSE TO ELECTION DAY YOU REVERSE AND GO WARMER AND FUZZIER.
TELL ME IF YOU AGREE WITH THAT AND ALSO THE IDEA THE WAY ELECTION DAY HAS TURNED INTO ELECTION MONTH THERE'S LESS OF A WINDOW TO DO THAT LAST-MINUTE FLIP.
>> IT IS VERY TRICKY.
I THINK THE APPROACH SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT.
FIRST YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF UPBEAT, POSITIVE LET ME TELL YOU MY CHARACTER AND WHY I WOULD BE GREAT FOR PRESIDENT.
THEN AS WE GET CLOSER CLOSER THE MUD SLINGING STARTS AND WE GO NEGATIVE AND HOPEFULLY I CAN MAKE INROADS AND BACK AND FORTH.
AND WHEN THE FRACAS IS DONE YOU HAVE TO SAY TO YOURSELF, WELL IF I I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION AND HAVEN'T LOOKED AT THE ISSUES I MIGHT ANCHOR ON NEGATIVE INFORMATION.
AND THESE DAYS THE WISE CANDIDATES TRY TO INOCULATE THE CROWD SAYING YOU MIGHT HEAR SOMETHING NEGATIVE BUT I'M GOING TO GET IN FRONT OF IT AND WHEN YOU HEAR IT YOU WON'T LEAVE.
WAIT A MINUTE I KNEW IT WAS COMING IT'S NOT TRUE AND I'M STILL VOTING FOR THIS CANDIDATE.
>> Jeff: HOW DOES TEXT MESSAGE MARKETING FIT INTO THE MARKETING WORLD OVERALL AND POLITICS SPECIFICALLY?
I ASK, BECAUSE IN A LOCAL DOWN BALLOT RACE, I GOT AN UNEXPECTED UNSOLICITED TEXT MESSAGE FROM A CANDIDATE.
IT WAS A BROADCAST MESSAGE EVERYBODY DOT THE SAME THING AND AT THE END IT SAYS YOU CAN REPLY STOP TO AVOID FUTURE MESSAGES WHICH I DID.
FEW DAYS LATER I GET ANOTHER MESSAGE FROM THE SAME CAMPAIGN WHICH OBVIOUSLY STARTS TO FEEL A LITTLE BIT INTRUSIVE.
YOUR THOUGHTS ON THAT AS A CHANNEL AND THEN AS WE WERE TALKING ABOUT INFLUENCERS, HOW POWERFUL WOULD IT BE IF THE TEXT MESSAGE APPEARED TO COME FROM GEORGE CLOONEY OR WHOEVER?
>> WELL, IT CAN HAVE SERIOUS SWAY.
IF IT'S COMING FROM GEORGE COASTLINE ANY I WILL PAY ATTENTION.
WHEN I CAN SAVE TIME THAT IS QUICK AND FAST, A TEXT IS GREAT.
WE DON'T TALK ON PHONES WE SEND A TEXT AND MOVE ON.
CANDIDATES ARE DOING THE SAME THING.
YOU LOOK AT THE TEXT YOU WILL CHECK IT OUT AND MAYBE YOU WILL TAKE OUT INFORMATION AND SAY I DIDN'T KNOW THIS POINT ABOUT THIS CANDIDATE.
AND IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING THAT MIGHT INFOP MY VOTE AND MIGHT MOVE ME ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.
HOWEVER, WHEN WE LOOK AT IT CAN YOU GET TOO CLOSE?
CAN YOU CROSS THE LINE AND NOW THE PERSON FEELS YOU ARE INTRUSIVE AND TURN ME OFF, AND I WILL NOT VOTE FOR YOU.
YOU WANT TO GUARD AGAINST THAT.
YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
AND YET IT IS A GREAT WAY TO BREAKTHROUGH THE CLUTTER.
WE MIGHT BE CREATING OUR OWN WALLS OF CLUTTER WE ARE TRYING TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND GETTING TOO MUCH INFORMATION.
IT'S NATURAL HOW DO YOU BREAKTHROUGH ONE'S COCOON AND A TEXT MESSAGE MIGHT BE A NOVEL APPROACH FOR NOW.
>> Jeff: ONE THING THAT NEVER SEEMS TO CHANGE IS THE LOOK AND FEEL OF THE ATTACK ADS.
IT'S LIKE THE SAME MUSIC, THE SCARY MUSIC THAT MAYBE IT'S THE SAME ANNOUNCERS WHO ARE DOING THESE SPOTS WITH THE FUZZY VIDEO THAT ART DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ADVANCED AT ALL.
>> IT'S STILL LIKE THE CLASSIC HORROR FILM.
YOU GOT THE ERIE MUSIC AND THE CANDIDATE WILL BE IN BLACK AND WHITE AND THE ONE WILL APPEAR IN COLOR.

I SAW A RECENT ONE HE AIN'T ME FOR THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN.
AND SHE HAD THE CLASSIC GUY WHO GREW UP IN PITTSBURGH AND A STEELERS FAN A REGULAR JOE AND WORKING A JOB AND HE SAID LOOK I'M NOT VOTING FOR DONALD TRUMP HE IS GOING TO RAISE TAXES TO GIVE IT TO THE BILLIONAIRES, AND YET THE SOUNDTRACK THE BEASTIE BOYS.
YOU GOT TO FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO PARTY.
WHICH I THOUGHT WAS CLEVER BECAUSE SHE SAYS WHEN WE FIGHT WE WIN.
THAT IS ONE OF THOSE ATTACK ADS THAT IS DOES IN A WAY THAT MIGHT HAVE POSITIVITY TO IT.

MAIL-IN VOTING CONTINUES WITH BALLOTS NEEDING TO BE POSTMARKED OR DROPPED TO A BOX BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE NEXT TUESDAY.
NOW TO THE MARQUEE RACE FOR THE U.S. SENATE FEATURING FORMER GOVERNOR LARRY HOGAN AND PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY EXECUTIVE ANGELA ALSOBROOKS.
WE CAUGHT UP WITH TWO OF THEIR SUPPORTERS.

ONE OF THE ISSUES IF YOU WANT KAMALA HARRIS TO BE YOUR PRESIDENT YOU NEED KAMALA HARRIS TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND HAVE A DEMOCRATIC SENATE.
AND SO WE SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MITCH MCCONNELL HAS A REPUBLICAN SENATE BLOCKING SUPREME COURT NOMINEES, BLOCKING THE AAGENDA TO MOVE US FORWARD THAT MESSAGE IS RESONATING.
AND YOU SAW PRIME MINISTER WITH ANGELA ALSOBROOKS -- PRESIDENT OBAMA SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THE ENERGY ON THE GROUND.
WE'RE FEELING GOOD ABOUT THE RACE BUT WE'RE RUNNING THROUGH THE TAPE.
>> Jeff: JOHN, HAS BEEN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL, MOST STRONGLY PROSECUTED LINE OF ATTACK DEPENDS LARRY HOGAN IS THE EASILY PROVEABLE CONTENTION THAT HE IS, IN FACT, A REPUBLICAN, IS HE NOT?

AND I THINK IT'S INTERESTING AS WE LOOK AT SOME OF THE POLLING DATA OF FOLKS THAT VOTED THERE IS A SURGE OF HARRIS-HOGAN VOTERS.
THERE IS A THRIVING DEMOCRATS FOR HOGAN AND IT'S INTERESTING THAT LARRY HOGAN IS RUNNING THROUGH THE FINISH LINE BY GETTING OUT TO WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE AND ANGELA ALSOBROOKS IS PARADING ARE CELEBRITIES AND PARTY BOSSES INSTEAD OF PRINCE GEORGE'SIANS WHO CAN TELL A TALE OF HOW GOOD A LEADER SHE HAS BEEN FOR THE COUNTY.
THEY LOOK AT LARRY HOGAN THEY REMEMBER THE TIMES WHEN HE WAS GOVERNOR WHERE HE WAS GETTING GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE WAY.
AND THEY ARE LOOKING AT ANGELA ALSOBROOKS AND NOT SEEING A LOT OF SUCCESS IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.
AND IN SPITE OF THE FACT THERE IS A D AND R NEXT TO THE NAMES I THINK MARYLANDERS REALIZE THEY NEED SOMEBODY WHO CAN LEAD AND SUPPORT TO THE MAXIMUM POSSIBLE.
>> Jeff: THERE HAVE BEEN LINES OF ATTACK AGAINST ANGELA ALSOBROOKS ONE SHE IS SAID TO HAVE RAISED TAXES IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.
AND THE OTHER FOCUSED ON SOME ALLEGATIONS OF FINANCIAL I AM PROPRIETIES REGARDING REAL ESTATE TAXES.
DO YOU THINK THAT'S HAD AN IMPACT?
>> LOOK, WHEN I OUR STATE BILLIONAIRES POUR 30 MILLION INTO A RACE TO TAKE AN ISSUE WHERE ANGELA ALSOBROOKS STEPPED IN TO SAVE HER GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE AND USE THAT IN THE DIABOLICAL WAYS THAT HAVE BEEN DONE, SURE IT IS AN ISSUE IN THIS CAMPAIGN.
LET ME SAY TO JOHN'S POINT WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT WHAT WE'RE SEEING THE ENERGY ON THE GROUND, THE ANGELA ALSOBROOKS BUS TOUR ALL OVER THE STATE IN ST.MARY'S COUNTY WITH RECORD CROWDS.
AND THE ENERGY ON THE GROUND IS PALPABLE.
AND YES IT IS IN PART BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT DEMOCRATS WANT KAMALA HARRIS TO BE PRESIDENT AND WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE SENATE.
AND ALSO BASED ON HER RECORD.
CRIME IS DOWN.
MORE COMPANIES HAVE BEEN CREATED MORE JOBS CREATED IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY THAN ANY JURISDICTION.
MORE NEW SCHOOLS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
AND THE FACT IS WHAT WE JUST SAW HAPPEN A COUPLE DAYS AGO IS REALLY, REALLY IMPACTING THE RACE IN AN INTERESTING WAY.
IS IF YOU LOOK AT "CNN" LARRY HOGAN WAS CAUGHT ON TAPE BRAGGING ABOUT THE DONALD TRUMP ENDORSEMENT.
ON THE ONE HAND, HE IS RUNNING AWAY FROM DONALD TRUMP.
RUNNING AWAY FROM MITCH MCCONNELL AT THE SAME TIME HAND SELECTED BY MITCH MCCONNELL, ENDORSED BY DONALD TRUMP AND ON TAPE BRAGGING ABOUT THAT DONALD TRUMP ENDORSEMENT.

AND HAS ANY OF THE CAMPAIGN CASH ANY OF THE AD BUYS BEEN CANCELED THAT YOU'VE SEEN?
>> JEFF I'M NOT TRACKING THE OUT OF STATE MONEY.
BUT WHAT I AM TRACKING IS THE OPINION OF PRINCE GEORGIANS AND ANGELA ALSOBROOKS COUNTY AND I RECOGNIZE THAT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS HAVE ENDORSED GOVERNOR HOGAN.
AND I DON'T SEE A LOT OF PRINCE GEORGIANS TO SUPPORT ANGELA ALSOBROOKS.
I NOTICED DURING THE PRIMARY ALL OF THE LEADERS IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY INCLUDING HER REPLACEMENT AS THE STATE'S ATTORNEY OR THE CHAIR OF THE COUNCIL OR SENATORS OR DELEGATES WERE ENDORSING TRONE NOT ALSOBROOKS THAT IS A CON KEMP NATION OF HER LEADERSHIP.
IF YOU GO BACK TO SOMEBODY THAT MARYLANDERS TRUST, AND RESPECT AND APPRECIATE IS GOVERNOR HOGAN.
IF THEY LOOK AT HER RECORD REGARDLESS OF THE STATISTICS WHEN YOU SEE WHO IS SUPPORTING HER YOU REALIZE HER RECORD IS DISMAL AT BEST IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.
>> LET ME JUST SAY IF THE OTHER TEAM IS BANKING ON PRINCE GEORGE'S SUPPORTING LARRY HOGAN THEY HAVE ISSUES ON THAT SIDE.
THE NUMBERS OUT OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY ARE TREMENDOUS.
THE LINES AT THE POLLS THE ENERGY WHERE WE GO THEY ARE SO PROUD THAT THEIR COUNTY EXECUTIVE THEIR FORMER STATE'S ATTORNEY IS ABOUT TO BE A U.S.
SENATOR.
THAT IS THE HEART BEAT OF THE ENERGY FOR THE ALSOBROOKS CAMPAIGN BUT WE ARE IN ALL 24 JURISDICTIONS AND THE POINTS THAT JOHN MAKES AND I MAKE ARE ONES THAT ARE KNOWN AND NOW IT IS A TURNOUT GAME.
>> Jeff: THE NUMBERS ON THIS ARE DAUNTING FROM THE HOGAN SIDE.
THE LAST FOUR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN MARYLAND THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE HAS GOTTEN 60%.
MAYBE 65 IN SOME CASES.
ASSUMING THE POLLS INDICATE THAT WILL BE THE CASE AGAIN, NEXT WEEK, THEN LARRY HOGAN'S GOT TO GET ABOUT 20% OF THOSE KAMALA HARRIS VOTERS TO SPLIT THE TICKET AS THEY SAY.
AND I BELIEVE HE RAN SOME ADS TO THAT EFFECT.
JOHN, IS THAT A REALISTIC NUMBER?
CAN HE GET 20% OF HARRIS VOTERS WHEN THEY MOVE FROM PRESIDENT TO U.S. SENATE ON THE BALLOT TO SWITCH TO THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE?
>> JEFF, IT IS AN EXTREMELY DAUNTING TASK AND LARRY HOGAN IS UNIQUELY QUALIFIED TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM THAT TASK.
HE IS GOING TO NEED TO WIN ALL OF THE REPUBLICAN AND INDEPENDENT VOTERS AND 20% OF THE DEMOCRATS.
BUT YOU SEE HE HAS BEEN INTENTIONAL ABOUT REACHING OUT TO UNIONS AND TO WORKERS AND TO SMALL BUSINESSES AND TO VETERANS AND TO FIRST-RESPONDERS.
AND COVERING THE MAP, REALIZING THAT HE NEEDS TO CONVINCE ALL OF MARYLANDERS TO THINK BACK TO THE GLORIOUS EIGHT YEARS IN THE GREAT STATE OF MARYLAND AND GO WITH THE TRUSTED, PROVEN INDEPENDENT MIND OF LARRY HOGAN.
>> YOU PHRASED THE QUESTION RIGHT IT IS A MATH ISSUE FOR LARRY HOGAN.
THAT'S WHY ON THAT ZOOM CALL WITH DONORS THE OTHER NIGHT, HE SAID HE WAS ASKED WHAT DO I SAY TO TRUMP SUPPORTERS WHO ARE NOT SURE ABOUT LARRY HOGAN TELL THEM I'VE BEEN ENDORSED BY DONALD TRUMP.

HE CANNOT AFFORD DEFECTIONS ON THE REPUBLICAN SIDE AND REACH ACROSS THE AISLE AND IN A YEAR WHERE MARYLANDERS REALLY WANT KAMALA HARRIS, THE ENERGY IS SO STRONG, AND THEY WANT KAMALA HARRIS TO HAVE A DEMOCRATIC SENATE, THEY DON'T WANT SOMEBODY WHO IS A LIFELONG REPUBLICAN WHO SAID THEY ARE GOING TO CAUCUS WITH THE REPUBLICANS AND HAND SELECTED BY MITCH MCCONNELL, THAT IS AT THE HEART OF THE ISSUE FOR NOVEMBER FIFTH.
NOW THAT EARLY VOTING IS OVER, NOVEMBER FIFTH.
>> THE STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IF THIS WEEKEND YOU HAVE A ROOMFUL OF PEOPLE A PHONE BANK READY TO MAKE PHONE CALLS ON BEHALF OF THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET WHERE ARE THEY CALLING?

THERE IS A REAL RACE BETWEEN DELANEY AND PARROT, WHO HAS BEEN ON THE BALLOT THE LAST COUPLE TIMES WE BELIEVE OUT OF THE MAINSTREAM AS AN EXTREME CANDIDATE.
THAT IS THE CLOSEST RACE IN MARYLAND.
THAT'S WHERE OUR FOCUS IS.

SENATOR.

>> HOWARD IS JUST ONE OF 9 HBCU SCHOOLS THAT WILL WORK ON THE PROJECT.
THESE SCHOOLS ARE UNIQUE BECAUSE OF THEIR SETTINGS NEAR AFRICAN-AMERICAN NEIGHBORHOODS.
[INAUDIBLE] THE INVESTIGATIONS INTO UNTOLD STORY IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTS.
>> WE ARE INTERESTED IN MAKING SURE THAT STUDENTS HAVE A COMMAND OF U.S. HISTORY.
AND GLOBAL HISTORY, INDEED.
SO THAT IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT, THAT INFORMS THE CONTEMPORARY ISSUES YOU ARE INVESTIGATING YOU CAN BUILD A MORE COMPLETE PICTURE.
THIS IS AN INVESTMENT NOT ONLY IN THE INDIVIDUAL EMERGING JOURNALIST, BUT IN LIFTING UP THE VOICES OF WHOLE COMMUNITIES AND ULTIMATELY THAT IS OUR INTENT.
